DIRECTIONS
TO SASSAFRAS YACHT SALES
THE BIG
PICTURE
(see also big picture map)
We
are on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (MD) where MD route 213 crosses the
Sassafras River. We are about 1 hour and 30 minutes south of downtown
Philadelphia and about 50 minutes from downtown Wilmington, Delaware (DE). The
Delaware Memorial Bridge (I95)
over the Delaware River is about 45 minutes north and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge
(US 50 and US 301) at Annapolis is about 50 minutes south. Take a plane to
Philadelphia (PHL) and take a train to Wilmington, DE. If flying into PHL or
taking the train to Wilmington, get the rental car to I95 southbound and
follow directions "From northeast" below.
DETAILS (see also details map)
From
northeast: take I95
south to DE route 896 south; proceed to US 40 then go west to MD route 213 at
Elkton; go south there about 19 miles and turn right onto George St. immediately
before the bridge over the Sassafras River (the third bridge).
From
Baltimore, north side and MD points north: take I95
north to MD 272 exit; go south at this exit to US 40; turn left there to MD
route 213 at Elkton; go south there about 19 miles and turn right onto George
St. immediately before the bridge over the Sassafras River (the third
bridge).
From Baltimore, south side: find your way to I97 south then to US 50 and US 301 (these two are contiguous in this area); go east there over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge; follow US 301 north when it splits away from US 50; take US 301 to MD route 313 and go left there; at the next traffic light (about 2.5 mi.) go straight, you are then on MD route 213, for about 2 mi.; go over the Sassafras River draw bridge and turn left onto George St. immediately after the bridge.
From
Washington, DC: find your way to US route 50 east towards Annapolis, then
follow directions in next paragraph.
From
southeast: take I95
north to Washington, DC beltway (I495)
and follow it east to the exit for US 50; follow this east to the Chesapeake Bay
Bridge; follow US 301 north when it splits away from US 50; take US 301 to MD
route 313 and go left there; at the next traffic light (about 2.5 mi.) go
straight, you are then on MD route 213, for about 2 mi.; go over the Sassafras
River draw bridge and turn left onto George St. immediately after the
bridge.
